New Delhi: The Deputy Secretary Home has withdrawn the letter written by Delhi Vigilance Director Sukesh Kumar Jain to Delhi Anti-Corruption Branch chief MK Meena. The Vigilance Director had written to Meena saying that there is no sanctioned post for him and hence, he must return to his post in the Delhi Police.
Responding to Vigilance Director's letter Meena had said, "I am doing my work the way I am required to. I am holding my charge because I have got orders from my authorities." He had refused to accept his orders.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Delhi had criticised the L-G for appointing Meena accusing him of overstepping his jurisdiction. Meena's appointment in the Anti-Corruption Branch has intensified the face-off between the Delhi government and the L-G.
The Delhi government transferred Principal Secretary for Home Dharampal who had authorised the L-G order on Meena's appointment.
The Delhi government had asked Dharampal to report to the Union Home Ministry with immediate effect. However, sources in the L-G's office said the transfer is invalid as only the L-G and the Home Ministry are authorised to do it.
The L-G's office had also cited the High Court order which stated that all appointments made by the Delhi government should be routed through the L-G's office for the time being.
