THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The government has issued orders modifying the qualification for selection to the post of Last Grade employees, Lower Division Clerk, Lower Division Typist, Typist Grade II, Confidential Assistant  Grade II, Steno typist, Typist-clerk, Clerk-Typist and Assistant (Government Secretariat, KPSC, Local Fund Audit Department etc). The GO issued by the P&RD (Rules) department said government had also consulted the Public Service Commission  (PSC) regarding the date of effect of the  PSC notifications, applicable to the newly- revised qualification issued as per Government order. The order said the PSC had agreed to issue a clarification to the Government Order to the effect that Government Order was applicable only to the notifications which are published by the Commission on or after July 1, 2011. As per the revised qualification, those who have passed Standard VIII and not passed graduation will be eligible to apply for the Last grade post.For the post of LD clerk, the qualification has been revised as a pass in Plus Two. For the Post of Assistant in Government Secretariat, PSC and Local Fund Audit department, degree in arts subjects  with not less than 45 percent marks and degree in science subjects with not less than 50 per cent is the required qualification. Besides, the candidates applying for the post of  Assistant (Secretariat, PSC  and Local fund Audit) post also require Diploma in Computer Applications (DCA) qualification.
