In what would indicate continued stalemate over government formation in Jammu and Kashmir, former chief minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed's family have given up the privileges.
The Mufti family not only vacated the residential house in Jammu, but also returned many security and government vehicles and personnel.
Mufti's wife Gulshan Bano took away her personal belongings from Jammu's Chief Minister residence, abandoning the special privileges otherwise entitled to a chief minister's family.
This comes even as Mehbooba Mufti has been facing demands from opposition National Conference to take over as Chief Minister or go in for fresh Assembly elections.
Following the death of Sayeed, the PDP had said it would review the implementation of its Agenda of Alliance, entered with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Jammu and Kashmir, during the term of the coalition government headed by the PDP founder before making a decision on fresh government formation.
The state was placed under Governor's Rule on January 8, a day after Sayeed's death.
