Forward Bloc had expressed reservations over induction of its suspended MLA Bhanu Pratap Sahi in the Cabinet.

New Delhi: Upset over induction of its suspended MLA into the ministry, Forward Bloc on Thursday night withdrew support to Madhu Koda-led UPA government in Jharkhand.

Although the withdrawal has jolted the Koda government, but there was no imminent threat to its stability.

Forward Bloc in a faxed letter said the party was "disillusioned" with Koda ministry for not keeping the promises made during formation of government in September last year and expressed reservations over induction of its suspended MLA Bhanu Pratap Sahi in the Cabinet.

The party faxed the letter, signed by party state President and MLA Aparna Sengupta and General Secretary Janardhan Pandey, to Governor Syed Sibtey Razi conveying to him withdrawal of support.

Earlier on Thursday, Jharkhand Health Minister Hemendra Pratap Sahi resigned from his post to facilitate his legislator son Bhanu Pratap Sahi's entry into the cabinet.

Sahi had earlier failed to make it to the cabinet as there were three warrants of arrest pending against him in Garwah. His father, who is not an MLA, was then sworn-in as a member of the Koda cabinet on October eight last year.

Sahi surrendered in the Garwah district court last year and got bail in all three cases last month.

As quoted by PTI, AIFB General Secretary Debabarata Biswas said "we have given support to the UPA coalition from outside with certain conditions. The Koda government ignored one of the conditions by inducting our suspended MLA Bhanu Pratap Sahi into the ministry".

He said Sahi was suspended from the party and not expelled.

Sahi, however, said he was an independent MLA as he had been expelled by Forward Bloc.
