Interrogate Raje in Sohrabuddin case: Ex-BJP leader
Meena, who was a cabinet minister in Raje government, had parted ways from BJP ahead of the 2008 assembly elections.

Jaipur: Independent MP and former BJP leader Kirori Meena on Tuesday demanded that former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje should be interrogated by the CBI in the Sohrabuddin Sheikh and Dara fake encounter cases. "No encounter can take place without knowledge of the Chief Minister and both Dara and Sohrabuddin Sheikh encounter cases are no exceptions," Meena told reporters here.

Senior BJP legislator Rajendra Rathore was one of the accused in the Dara fake encounter case (Rajasthan) whereas charge sheet has been filed against Leader of Opposition Gulabchand Kataria in the Sohrabuddin Sheikh fake encounter case (Gujarat) last week. "I was a cabinet minister in the former BJP government along with Rajendra Rathore and Gulabchand Kataria. I know it well that such decisions were possible only at the level of Chief Minister," Meena said.

Meena, who was a cabinet minister in Raje government, had parted ways from BJP ahead of the 2008 assembly elections. Rubbishing charges against him for his alleged involvement in the Surwal case (Sawaimadhopur) in which a police inspector was burnt alive by an agitating mob, the Dausa MP announced to take out a yatra in tribal areas of Udaipur from May 23 to June 6 to 'create awareness' among people on their rights.

"The yatra is for creating awareness among tribals of their rights. Centre releases money for development in tribal areas, but no development work is seen there. If tribals are aware, they can raise their voice in a more effective manner," Meena added.
