Jairam Ramesh is a Rajya Sabha MP from Andhra Pradesh.
New Delhi: Jairam Ramesh, who is the Minister of State in the Department of Commerce and Minister of State in the Ministry of Power, resigned on Wednesday as a minister to work for the Congress during the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Ramesh is a Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament from Andhra Pradesh.
He was an important member of the committee that finalised the Common Minimum Programme of the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) after the alliance came to power in May 2004.
Earlier he was part of the Congress election strategy team for the 2004 Lok Sabha elections.
