Koda resigns as Jharkhand CM | Profile: Koda the survivor
His resignation came following instructions from the UPA leadership.

Ranchi: Ending a week-long suspense, Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda resigned on Saturday evening, making way for Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) chief Shibu Soren.

Koda met Governor Syed Sibte Razi along with four ministers who are independent legislators and handed over his resignation.

Koda, an independent legislator who became chief minister with support of the United Progressive Alliance, resigned following instructions from the UPA leadership.

"We will stake claim to form next government," Hemlal Murmu, JMM Lok Sabha MP, said.
