Congress leaders at the Centre are not in favour of dismissal of the Yeddyurappa govt.

New Delhi: A delegation of Congress leaders from Karnataka on Saturday met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh demanding immediate appropriate action on Governor H R Bhardwaj's report to the Centre recommending dismissal of the B S Yeddyurappa government in the state.

The delegation included KPCC president G Parameshwar and the Leader of Opposition in the state assembly Siddaramiah, Leader of Opposition in the Legislative council Motamma, senior Congress leader Oscar Fernandes and other state leaders.

Emerging out of the meeting, Siddaramiah told reporters that the Karnataka government has lost all the right to continue in office and should go.

He said the Prime Minister assured them that the Centre would take a decision into the matter after taking into consideration all the aspects related to the issue.

The Karnataka unit of the Congress has been demanding dismissal of the state government after the Supreme Court nullified the Karnataka High Court's order that disqualified 16 MLAs in the state assembly.

However, Congress leaders at the Centre are not in favour of dismissal of the Yeddyurappa government.

The Cabinet Committee on Political Affairs last night discussed the report sent by the Karnataka Governor but deferred a decision on it till Sunday.
