'Many Believe Special Treatment...': Amit Shah on Supreme Court Decision to Grant Bail to Arvind Kejriwal
Union home minister Amit Shah said he believes that the Supreme Court's decision to grant interim bail to the Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal to campaign for the Lok Sabha elections is not a routine judgement

Union home minister Amit Shah has called the Supreme Court’s decision to grant interim bail to Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal in the liquor policy case as “not a routine judgement”, saying many believe that “special treatment” has been given to the AAP convener.

In an interview to news agency ANI, he said he believes that the top court’s decision to grant bail to the Kejriwal to campaign for the Lok Sabha elections is not a routine judgement. “I believe this is not a routine judgement. A lot of people in this country believe that special treatment has been given,” he told ANI’s Smita Prakash.

In a direct message to the Delhi CM, Shah said Prime Minister Narendra Modi will remain till 2029. “…and Arvind Kejriwal, I have bad news for you… even after 2029, PM Modi will lead us,” he said, in response to Kejriwal statement that Modi will retire at the age of 75 as is the “norm” in the BJP.

The BJP leader also commented on the allegations made by AAP’s Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal, that she was assaulted by Kejriwal’s close aide Bibhav Kumar. “Right now, he (Arvind Kejriwal) is stuck in another issue, let him get free from that, then let’s see what happens,” he said.

He was also asked about Kejriwal’s claims that he will not need to go back to jail if his party got enough votes in the general elections. “I believe this is a clear contempt of the Supreme Court. He is trying to say that if someone emerges victorious, the Supreme Court does not send them to jail even if they are guilty. The judges that granted him bail have to think how their judgment is being used or misused,” he added.
