Hyderabad: The condition of fasting TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu is stable for now but could deteriorate, doctors attending on him said on Tuesday evening.
"His health is stable at the moment but it could deteriorate. His heart pumping is normal and the pulse rate is 84, which is also normal," the team of doctors monitoring Naidu's health said.
The team comprising Dr Srinivasan, Dr Dakshina Murthy and Dr Seshagiri Rao told the newsmen that the blood sugar level of Naidu was 88 mg dl while the electrolytes like sodium, urea and potassium were a bit higher. He was feeling very weak because of 'protracted starvation'.
"He is not taking any medicines. His blood pressure is on the lower side but in the normal range," Principal Secretary (Health) and Director (in charge) of Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences PV Ramesh said.
He said they were persuading the former Chief Minister to take intravenous fluids as without any nutrition his condition could deteriorate. Ramesh said the team of experts was monitoring Chandrababu's health every six hours.
Meanwhile, TDP rank and file across the state conducted special poojas in different temples wishing good health to their leader.
Naidu has been on an indefinite fast protesting against inadequate relief announced by the state government to farmers who lost their crops in the recent untimely rains.
