Padmaja fumes over denial of Cong ticket
"Has the Congress forgotten my father and his contribution so soon," K Karunakaran's daughter said.

Kochi: Unhappy with denial of ticket to her for the April 13 Kerala assembly elections, K Padmaja, daughter of late congress leader, K Karunakaran, came out in the open about her disappointment, but said she would campaign for the Congress candidates in all the 140 constituencies.

While Padmaja was denied ticket, her brother, K Muraleedharan, who was recently re-admitted into the party after five years, was considered for Vattiyurkavu seat in Thiruvananthapuram.

"Giving seat to only one of Karunakaran's children is not right. Both of us were considered for the same seat, which was not proper. I am saddened, but will not protest against the decision," she said.

Padmaja said though she was hurt, she and those close to her father will campaign for the party workers in all the constituencies.

"The feelings of Karunakaran faction would be conveyed to the party high command and the state leadership," she said.

"Has the party forgotten my father so soon? It is hardly three months since he passed away. Has the party forgotten his contributions? His soul will not rest in peace," she added.
