62. Patan is a state Assembly/Vidhan Sabha constituency in the state of Chhattisgarh and is part of Durg Lok Sabha/Parliamentary constituency. Patan falls in Durg district and Central region of Chhattisgarh. It is categorised as a rural seat.
There are a total of 1,95,205 voters in the seat, which includes 97,654 male voters, and 97,537 female voters. In the 2018 Chhattisgarh elections, Patan recorded a voter turnout of 82.93%. In 2013 the turnout was 83.2%, and in 2008 it was 78.97%.
In 2013, Bhupesh Baghel of INC won the seat by a margin of 9,343 votes (6.5%). Bhupesh Baghel secured 47.47% of the total votes polled.
BJP won this seat in the 2008 Assembly elections with a margin of 7,842 votes (6.37%), registering 47.95% of the total votes polled.
