New Delhi: The Shiv Sena-Bharatiya Janata Party tussle is likely to get more murkier as the former boycotted the swearing-in ceremony of a new set of Union ministers on Sunday.

Sena skipped the ceremony following differences over the portfolio being offered to its leader Anil Desai. Sena reportedly was eyeing a Cabinet berth but was disappointed by the BJP when its nominee was offered to take charge as Minister of State.

In a day full of twists and turns, Desai arrived in Delhi for the oath taking ceremony but was asked to return to Mumbai by the Sena high command later.

However, Sena leader Suresh Prabhu was inducted into the Union Cabinet on a BJP quota. Sources said that the PM was keen on having him in his Cabinet.

Shiv Sena has 18 MPs in the 16th Lok Sabha and only one of them enjoys a Cabinet berth.
