PM Modi meets Bihar CM Nitish Kumar at wedding of Lalu's daughter and Mulayam's grand nephew
After a long time Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar shared pleasantries with each other.

New Delhi: In a rare glimpse of bonhomie and after a long time, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday were seen sharing pleasantries with each other.

The occasion was the wedding ceremony of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad's daughter and Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav's grand nephew in a five-star hotel in New Delhi.

Ever since Modi was declared as the Bharatiya Janata Party's Election Campaign Committee chairperson in June 2013, Kumar took objection to it. He was instrumental in the breaking away of alliance between the Janata Dal (United) and the BJP.

Kumar even resigned as chief minister of Bihar a couple of days after the BJP won the Lok Sabha elections on May 16 and it was obvious that Modi will take over as the next PM.

Kumar was learnt to have harboured prime ministerial ambitions himself. It was said he did not want to be seen at platforms of chief ministers with Modi as PM and, hence, he had resigned. But the defiance by his chosen man Jitan Ram Manjhi who succeeded as Bihar CM forced Kumar to take over the reins of the state once again.

In this scenario, Kumar and Modi sharing pleasantries was a rare glimpse.
