Ready to appear before PAC, PM writes to Joshi
PM writes to PAC saying he is ready to appear before it in connection with 2G probe.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Monday wrote to the PAC chairman Murli Manohar Joshi, saying he is ready to appear before it in connection with the 2G spectrum issue.

Earlier, speaking at the Congress plenary last Monday, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had said that he is willing to appear before the Public Accounts Committee for a probe into the 2G scam.

"I wish to state categorically that I have nothing to hide. I may have made mistakes but I have tried to serve my country to the best of my abilities. I sincerely believe like Caesar's wife the prime minister should be above suspicion. For this reason I am prepared to appear before the Public Accounts Committee even though there's no precedent to that effect," Manmohan Singh had said.

Meanwhile, the Comptroller and Auditor General of India Vinod Rai deposed before the Parliamentary accounts Committee chairman Murli manohar Joshi on Monday in connection with the 2G spectrum scam investigation.
