RSS kicks off annual meet ahead of Lok Sabha elections
RSS brushed away the Ram Mandir issue saying that there are other issues like FDI, security and minority politics.

Bangalore: Just days after the announcement of the election schedule, the RSS has kick-started its three-day annual meet in the city where the top leaders of the organisation are taking part. RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat inaugurated the event on Friday.

The organisation maintained that the meet is only to review the work done by its state units apart from discussing 'important national issues'. Politics and the elections are not on the agenda for discussion at the meet, according to the organisers.

At a press conference, RSS brushed away the Ram Mandir issue saying that there are other issues like FDI, security and minority politics, attacking the Congress government of dividing society in the name of minority politics.

The Sangh was generous in its praise of BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi. "Modi is a strong leader. It is reflected in Gujarat," said RSS Joint General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale. "We are happy that he (Modi) is the PM candidate because he is a swayamsevak himself,: he said. Hosabale also said that the Sangh will work for 100 percent voter turnout in the general elections.

RSS also took a swipe at the Aam Aadmi Party saying that the party ruled Delhi for just 49 days. "The experience of AAP is a lesson for all. People will take the right decision on who can rule" said Hosabale

Over 1,000 workers and top leaders of the Sangh Parivar affiliates are attending the closed-door meet called Akhil Bharateeya Pratinidhi Sabha (ABPS). BJP President Rajnath Singh is expected to attend the event on Saturday.
