Shatrughan has not given indication that he will quit BJP: Nitish
"He is in the BJP so it will not be proper for me to answer your question of Shatrughan Sinha joining the JD(U)," the Bihar CM said.

Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday said actor-politician Shatrughan Sinha, who described him as 'PM material', has not given any indication that he would join Janata Dal United. "He (Sinha) has not given any signal that he will no more be a part of the BJP. He is in the BJP so it will not be proper for me to answer your question of Sinha joining the JD(U)," Kumar said.

"Sinha is known for expressing free-wheeling opinion over current issues, which is a healthy tradition," Kumar said. Sinha, who has been sulking after denial of a role in the new election team of Narendra Modi, had embarrassed BJP recently by describing Kumar as 'PM material'.

The comment came at a time when the BJP was gunning for Kumar's head after the split with the JD(U). Senior state BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi, however, said the JD(U) should not harbour any illusion about Sinha switching over to it.

Modi said "those who are harbouring illusion that Sinha will be going over to their side will only be disappointed. "Sinha has been with BJP from the beginning when it was a party of two MPs ... he has been part and parcel of the party in happy and sad times," Sushil Modi told reporters separately.

Asked if the BJP would mollify Sinha, Modi asked "when was he unhappy with BJP that the party needs to mollify him?"

What's your reaction?
