'Speaking Anti-National Things, Making Baseless Claims': Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh Shred Rahul Gandhi's US Speeches
Home Minister Amit Shah warned that till BJP existed, "no one can touch reservation or jeopardise nation's security"

Top Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders on Wednesday came down heavily on Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi for his remarks on Sikhs, the caste census, and the quota system besides his meeting with US politician Ilhan Omar, who is known for her anti-India stance, during his three-day visit to the United States.

The senior leaders, including Union Ministers Amit Shah, Piyush Goyal and Rajnath Singh, accused Gandhi of “hurting security and sentiments of the country” and called his US speeches “baseless and misleading”.

Taking to social media platform X, Union Home Minister Amit Shah wrote, “Speaking anti-national things and standing with forces that break the country has become a habit of Rahul Gandhi and the Congress party. Whether it is supporting the anti-national and anti-reservation agenda of JKNC in Jammu and Kashmir, or speaking anti-India things on foreign forums, Rahul Gandhi has always hurt the security and sentiments of the country.”

“Talking about discrimination from language to language, region to region and religion to religion shows the divisive thinking of Rahul Gandhi,” he wrote.

He said by talking about ending the reservation system, Rahul Gandhi has once again brought the “anti-reservation face” of the Congress in front of the country.

He warned that till BJP existed, “no one can touch reservation or jeopardise nation’s security”.

“The thoughts and ideas in the mind always come out through some medium or the other. I want to tell Rahul Gandhi that as long as BJP is there, no one can touch reservation and no one can play with the unity of the country,” he said.

Row Over Photo With Ilhan Omar

Earlier in the day, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) targeted Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi for meeting “anti-India” and “radical” politician Ilhan Omar during his three-day trip to the United States. The saffron party asked why the Congress leader had to meet her and if it was ok to go for “desh virodh” during “BJP virodh”.

‘Misleading, Baseless’: Rajnath Singh On Rahul’s US Remarks

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh slammed Rahul Gandhi for his remarks in the US, calling them “misleading, baseless and factless”.

He said the entire country respected the Sikh community for its role in protecting the culture of India.

“Rahulji’s claim that the NDA government wants to abolish reservation is also completely baseless. Our Prime Minister has strengthened the reservation system for the welfare and development of Dalits, backward classes and tribals. Similarly, the kind of claims he has made on the soil of America regarding the India-China border dispute are also misleading and beyond facts. It seems that while running the shop of love, Rahulji has opened a shop of lies. Rahul ji should refrain from making such false statements,” he said.

‘Rahul Is Now Master Of Fake Propaganda’: Piyush Goyal

Union Minister Piyush Goyal also slammed Rahul Gandhi for his comments abroad and called him a “master of fake propaganda.”

“It is very unfortunate when Rahul Gandhi insults India and its people abroad. He meets anti-India people there,” he said.

BJP Reacts As Banned Khalistani Group Backs Rahul’s Comment On Sikhs

BJP raised objections after the banned Khalistani group Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) backed Rahul Gandhi’s comments on Sikhs, saying “Congress is doing everything to destroy India’s social fabric.

BJP leader and the saffron party’s media cell in-charge, Amit Malviya, took to X and wrote, “This is unprecedented. Sikhs For Justice, the banned Khalistan terror group, has backed Rahul Gandhi’s mis-informed comments on the Sikh community, in the US. After Ilhan Omar, this is yet another instance of Congress in cahoots with anti-India forces. Congress and Rahul Gandhi are indeed against India. They are doing everything possible to destroy India’s social fabric.”

Addressing the members of the Indian diaspora in Virginia, Gandhi said that the fight in India is about whether a person, as a Sikh, is going to be allowed to wear a turban in India and would be able to visit a Gurdwara.

While interacting with a member of the Indian community, Gandhi further asked his name and then said that the fight was about whether he would be allowed to wear a turban or kada in India.

Rahul On Caste Census, Quota System

Speaking to students at Georgetown University on Monday, Gandhi, Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, reiterated his demand for a caste census and said the Congress party wanted to know the socio-economic position of lower castes in India. He also said the Congress party would think of scrapping reservations when India becomes a “fair place”, which is not the case right now.
