Stop vindictiveness, Amarinder tells CM
Amarinder Singh asked Prakash Badal to give instructions to stop "vindictive action" against Congress members.

New Delhi: Punjab Chief Minister may have vowed not to pursue the politics of vendetta, but his predecessor former Punjab chief minister Amarinder Singh on Monday asked the octogenarian to give instructions to stop "vindictive action" against Congress members.

In a letter to Badal from London, where Singh is undergoing a medical check up, news agency PTI quoted the former chief minister’s letter as saying, "Harassing my former colleagues or officers when I have taken the responsibility is uncalled for."

The copy of the letter, purportedly written by Singh, was circulated by Congress legislator Jeet Mohinder Singh Sidhu to the reporters in the state Assembly in Chandigarh after Governor S F Rodrigues finished his address to the House.

"I am available to you at any time or place of your choice. I will be present as and when you require me," Singh was quoted by news agency PTI as saying.

"My decisions have all been in the interest of my State and I am answerable to the people of the state, which I shall gladly do.

"I do not think there has been a government ever in the state, other than that of Partap Singh Kairon, that can claim more progress and development in all fields, as has been carried out by the Congress government, which I have had the privilege to lead for five years," PTI quoted Singh as saying in his letter.
