Kolkata: Three Trinamool Congress MPs have been issued show-cause notices for making anti-party statements. Notices have been issued against TMC MPs Kunal Ghosh, Tapas Pal and Shatabdi Roy.
Kunal Ghosh has claimed that he has been unfairly accused in the Saradha chit fund scam and if the need arises he will expose the truth. The three MPs were also questioned late on Friday night by Kolkata police in the chit fund scam.
Kunal Ghosh, the TMC Rajya Sabha member whose name cropped up in the Saradha chit fund controversy, without naming anybody, said, "They are thinking that those who had joined TMC with no self-interest, let them stay away."
Ghosh had some months back offered to resign from Rajya Sabha if charges were proved against him in the chit fund scam. Ghosh, in a six page letter to party chief Banerjee, had earlier said, "I am ready to face and co-operate with any investigation.
He also demanded a CBI inquiry into the Saradha scam, saying those allegedly associated with it should be called for interrogation. "Since the allegation has been made against me, I want a CBI probe into the Saradha scam. All those whose names figured in it and those, who were known by Saradha group CMD Sudipta Sen, should be interrogated by CBI," Ghosh said at a programme here.
