New Delhi: The administrative reshuffle continues in battleground Uttar Pradesh.
A day after the Election Commission gave transfer orders to top bureaucrats, the state government on Thursday appointed new Principal Secretary (Home) and four District Magistrates.
While K Chandramauli was made Principal Secretary (Home), J S Deepak, Chandrabhanu and Madhukar Dwivedi were been made district magistrates of Meerut, Etah and Saharanpur respectively.
Officers on these posts were transferred on Thursday on the directions of the Election Commission.
Meanwhile, the transfers continued on Thursday and SSP of Lucknow, Rajiv Krishna was also shifted to Meerut.
The EC has also reportedly recommended the name of senior IPS officer G L Sharma as the next DGP of the poll-bound state.
Sharma, if selected, will replace Bua Singh who was transferred by the poll panel on Wednesday
Singh, who felt "humiliated" with EC's decision, has sought voluntary retirement.
The Commission's action came in the wake of complaints by Opposition parties that some senior officials of the state were close to the state's ruling Samajwadi Party.
