‘I Feel Sad He Didn’t’: Rajinikanth’s Wife Latha On His Decision To Not Join Politics

Rajinikanth’s wife Latha Rajinikanth appeared before a Bengaluru court on Tuesday in the case related to the Tamil film, Kochadaiiyaan. She has been granted bail by the court. Additionally, the hearing has been postponed to January 6, 2024. Following her appearance in the court, she addressed the media and also shed light on Rajinikanth’s plan to enter politics. “I really feel sad that Rajini did not enter politics. Because I saw him as a leader. But he had a real, honest reason for not entering politics,” she said. During her interaction with the media, Latha clarified that she was only summoned by the court and there was no warrant against her. Then, she gave the afore-mentioned shocking statement about Rajinikanth’s political entry. She further highlighted that, given the latest political situation in Tamil Nadu, Rajinikanth would have become a superpower.

Speaking of the ongoing cheating case, a Chennai-based Ad Bureau Advertising Pvt Ltd had filed a cheating case against Latha Rajinikanth, regarding the rights of the film Kochadaiiyaan. The film was directed by Rajinikanth’s daughter, Soundarya Rajinikanth. The 2014-film starred Rajinikanth alongside Deepika Padukone.

It was claimed that Rs 10 crore was given to Media One, a co-producer on the film. Latha Rajinikanth allegedly signed the documents filed by Murali as a guarantor. Since Murali did not return the loan immediately, Ad Bureau Advertising Pvt Ltd moved to court to complain against him and Latha in the year 2015. After the Bengaluru Court granted Latha bail, she addressed the media saying, “For me, it’s a case of humiliation and harassment and exploitation of a popular person. This is the price we pay for being celebrities. So there may not be a big case, but the news becomes very big. There is no fraudulence.”

“I have nothing to do with the money that is being reported. That is between Media One and the concerned people. They have already settled and the topic is between them. I made sure as a guarantor that they have been paid,” she concluded.
