Users tend to shoot videos in vertical orientation primarily because it is natural to hold the smartphone in that way, but video portals have a hard time adjusting to that and eventually portrait videos appear with black bands on both sides.

New Delhi: Watching vertically shot videos shot in landscape mode is quite a pain. YouTube has finally decided to make it less cumbersome a task by introducing a new feature.

The new option allows you to watch the vertically shot videos in full-screen mode on Android smartphones, Android Police reports.

Users tend to shoot videos in vertical orientation primarily because it is natural to hold the smartphone in that way, but video portals have a hard time adjusting to that and eventually portrait videos appear with black bands on both sides.

The new feature in YouTube 10.28 is currently available via APK Mirror and finally seems to answer the long awaited option.

It is currently available only for Android smartphones and we hope YouTube releases it soon for other versions as well.
