Google Is Bringing A New App For Windows PC Users: What It Offers
Google is bringing a new app for Windows PC users which makes it easy for them to install its apps suite and benefit from other features.

Google has rolled out a new app, called ‘Google Essentials,’ designed as a one-stop hub for discovering and installing various Google services—Google Photos, Google Messages, and others, when setting up a new Microsoft Windows PC. Users will also be able to access Google Play Games, currently in its beta phase, through this new app.

According to Google, the new app is all set to debut on all HP Windows consumer and gaming brands such as Spectre, OMEN, Envy, Pavilion, Victus, and HP Brand. Soon, it will be featured on all OmniBook brands too. It is worth noting that the Essentials app will come pre-installed on PCs. One can quickly access the Google Essentials app right from the start menu and easily switch between their phone and laptop.

For instance, from Google Essentials or HP’s OMEN Gaming Hub, users can access thousands of mobile and native PC games from Google Play Games, such as CookieRun: Tower of Adventures and Clash of Clans. If a user signs in to their Play Games account, this allows them to sync their in-game progress and reward benefits for certain titles.

In the blog post, the company also mentioned that users can also access Google Photos and Google Messages from Google Essentials, making it easier for them to enjoy their photo albums and respond to texts from family and friends. The app also includes shortcuts to Google Workspace services, including Google Docs, Drive, Calendar, and more for times when you need to get tasks done.

While Google is yet to announce the full list of apps that will be available on Windows PCs, the tech giant company said that users can uninstall the Essentials app or a part of it anytime they wish to.

In addition to that, Google is offering a 2-month trial of a Google One 100GB for their cloud storage needs to eligible Google One subscribers. Furthermore, the tech giant has indicated plans to expand the app’s availability to other laptop and desktop manufacturers in the coming months.

Earlier, Google introduced “help me write” and “polish” features for Gmail powered by its Gemini artificial intelligence (AI) model. With this features, paid subscribers of Gemini AI can generate complete formal email drafts based on rough notes. They can also change and edit the tone of their email with just a single click.
