Motorola, acquired last year by Lenovo, is expected to use a July 28 event to announce a new generation of Moto G, and perhaps a watch that will succeed the brand's iconic Moto 360.

The main announcement will likely concern a new Moto G that would use the latest version of Android Lollipop. Photos of the next-gen smartphone have in fact already leaked online.

This third iteration would keep its 5 inch HD (720p) display, operate thanks to a quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor hitting 1.4GHz and have 2GB of RAM. It is also likely to come equipped with two new cameras, a 13MP for the back and 5MP for the front.

The brand's most high-end model, the Moto X, could actually get a bigger screen, 5.2 inches in full 1080p HD, and a 1.5GHz quad-core processor.

The Moto X is customizable via the Moto Maker online tool, allowing owners to choose the color of the phone's shell and buttons, to add a signature, to select its memory capacity and to choose a screen background or welcome message.

Motorola might also use this opportunity to unveil a new watch. It was only one year ago that the company unveiled the Moto 360, the connected watch with the sleek and round face that became so popular that it opened the door for the LG Watch Urbane, the Huawei Watch, or, in a slightly different genre, the Withings Activite.

Its screen resolution could even get a bump to a 360x360 pixel full screen.

The event, organized by Motorola, will take place simultaneously in New Delhi, London, Sao Paulo, New York.
