Indian Govt Has This Security Warning For Microsoft Edge Users: Here’s What We Know
Microsoft Edge browser faces a new security issue that can put millions at risk of hacking attempts. Here's what you should know.

The Indian government has warned users about a major security issue concerning the Microsoft Edge web browser this week. The new security bulletin dated July 5 comes via the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team or CERT-In warning about an issue that needs your immediate attention.

The security agency claims that the web browser from Microsoft has multiple security vulnerabilities that could allow an attacker to cause denial of service conditions, remote code execution and bypass the security of your device and give them access to the data.

CERT-In Microsoft Edge Security Alert: What It Says

The security note from CERT-In clearly highlights the issues facing the Microsoft Edge browser which is built on the same engine as Google’s Chrome. “These vulnerabilities exist in Microsoft Edge (Chromium-based) due to use after free in Dawn and Swiftshader. An attacker could exploit these vulnerabilities by persuading a victim to visit a specially crafted webpage,” the post from the security agency explains.

The security alert also specifies which versions of the Microsoft Edge browser are affected by the issue. The note says the Edge stable version prior to 126.0.2592.81 are at risk because of the mentioned issue and people should update their Edge browser version right away.

How To Update Microsoft Edge Version

The good news is that Microsoft has already issued a security bulletin for this issue, so we suggest you update the Edge browser on your PC and other devices right away.
