Tech And Auto Awards 2017, India’s first ever Technology and Automotive Awards, based on The Tech and Auto Show – country’s first TV show combining the latest news, views, reviews, and interviews from the world of technology and automobiles were held at The Grand, New Delhi on November 29. The Tech And Auto Awards saw in attendance, more than 300 dignitaries from the technology and the automotive industry, together celebrating the success stories of both the verticals.
The Awards night initiated with the Minister of Law and Justice of India, Ravi Shankar Prasad delivering an inaugurative speech and congratulating News18 for bringing together the innovations taking place in India through the technology and automotive industries. Following this, Larry Paulson - Vice President, President, Qualcomm India delivered a keynote speech highlighting the 5G revolution that is headed to India.

The winners from the 75 nominees placed in 16 different categories were decided upon by a combination of online voting and the result by the jury, which included 12 honourable personalities from the technology and automobile verticals. The 16 categories and their respective winners were as follows:
1. Smartphone of the year – Samsung Galaxy S8/ S8+
2. Car of the year - Hyundai Verna
3. Indian Consumer App of the year – Paytm
4. Two-Wheeler of the year - Triumph Street Triple S
5. Tech Personality of the year – Vijay Shekhar Sharma
6. Sedan of the year - Hyundai Verna
7. Affordable Smartphone of the year – Nokia 6
8. Hatchback of the year - Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS
9. Dual-Camera Smartphone of the year – Honor 8 Pro
10. SUV of the year - Jeep Compass
11. Design of the year - Samsung Frame TV
12. Luxury Car of the year - Audi A5
13. Selfie Smartphone of the year – Honor 9i
14. Design of the year - Porsche 718 Boxster
15. Performance Car of the year - Mercedes-AMG GT R
16. Editor’s Choice Gadget of the year – Bose QuietComfort 35 II
