Apple shared a lot of details about the new iPhone 16 series at the event last week but the company does tend to keep quiet on some features. Apple generally does not talk about the battery size on its devices and just gives us a rough estimate of how long it can last based on its internal tests. But one of the more important aspects about the iPhone 16 models has come a few days after the official launch.
Flagship phones from Apple, Samsung and Google are yet to reach the levels of charging speed offered by Chinese brands. Apple has finally upgraded the charging speeds on the new iPhone 16 series, including the regular variant this year.
The new iPhone 16 officially supports 45W wired charging speed, which is the fastest ever on an iPhone from the company. However, Apple needs you to have the right gear to reach that level, which is why the best you can get is around 39W going by the latest developments around this subject.
iPhone 16 Fast Charging Support – What’s The Real Speed
Multiple certification posts this month have talked about the iPhone 16 supporting 45W charging speeds which is much faster than the 27W supported by the iPhone 15 model last year. It is likely that you would need the official Apple USB C cable and the adapter to get to those speeds but it is an improvement nevertheless.
One might say that Android phones costing Rs 15,000 are now offering these speeds but Apple’s obvious upgrade in this aspect, albeit slightly, will be definitely welcomed by people looking to buy the new iPhone 16 models. With these figures, Apple is now similar to Samsung’s Galaxy S24 and Fold 6 charging speeds, but marginally faster than the 37W supported by the Google Pixel 9 Pro XL model.
The iPhone 16 series starts from Rs 79,900 in the Indian market and is now available for pre-order across online and offline stores in the country with special launch-day offers. You don’t get the Apple 45W charging adapter in the box and have to buy it separately.
