Microsoft's Copilot Pro Brings ChatGPT-Like Features To MS Word, Excel For Individuals
With Copilot Pro, all users will be able to access Copilot inside the Microsoft Office suite of apps—Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and OneNote on PC.

Remember Microsoft Bing Chat, the company’s own GPT-powered AI bot? It was rebranded as Microsoft Copilot some time ago, and now, the technology giant has announced Copilot Pro, a new subscription that gives users access to the most advanced features of Copilot AI. Copilot Pro costs $20 per month per user, and users can now actively subscribe to it.

Microsoft states that Copilot Pro will assist users with writing, research, coding, and even learning. It comes with a set of exclusive features that are not available in the free version.

Microsoft Copilot Pro: Here’s What’s New

For starters, with Copilot Pro, all users will be able to access Copilot inside the Microsoft Office suite of apps—Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and OneNote on PC. Notably, these features were already available for Business users since November, but now, individuals, too, can use them. However, just the Copilot Pro subscription won’t be enough. You will need to be subscribed to Office 365 Personal or Family, and have access to the aforementioned Office apps.

Further, Copilot Pro users will receive priority access to the latest OpenAI models. This includes OpenAI GPT-4 Turbo, which will provide users with faster performance even during peak times. Microsoft will also soon open up the ability to toggle between modes, allowing users to choose between the free version and the Pro version.

Copilot Pro also provides improved AI image creation with Image Creator from Designer, and now you can perform 100 boosts per day while delivering higher quality and images in landscape orientation as well. Do note that that regular users are limited to just 15 boosts per day.

Microsoft notes that users will have a “single AI experience” across devices, whether on a smartphone or on the web. The company  regards it as a “premium subscription” that provides users with a “higher tier of service for AI capabilities.” In many respects, it is comparable to OpenAI’s ChatGPT Plus, but Microsoft has the advantage of being able to easily integrate models like GPT-4 Turbo into applications like Excel and Word, creating more use cases for the AI.
