Motorola announces Moto X Force - the Droid Turbo 2 with shatterproof display for international markets
The Moto X Force is expected to be rolled out in international markets in November.

New Delhi: After announcing it for the US market, Motorola’s new Droid Turbo 2 that boast of world’s first shatterproof display will soon be available in international markets under a different name - Moto X Force.

The new Moto X Force display features the Moto ShatterShield technology, which is an integrated system consisting of five layers designed from materials that absorb shock from impact and are guaranteed not to shatter.

In its #ShortestPressAnnouncementEver, Motorola Mobility President Rick Osterloh, tests the phone against two rival flagships by Apple and Samsung.

While the rival smartphone displays are smashed after the drop from a reasonable height, the Moto X Force survives the fall and stays scratch free.

"The display and embedded lens are warranted against shattering and cracking for four years from the original date of purchase; scratches or other damage to the protective lens is not covered by this warranty, but should always be in place to prevent scratches and other damage to the underlying components," says Motorola.

While just the name has been changed for the UK and other markets, the specifications remain the same. The Moto X Force features a 5.4-inch Quad HD display, 21 megapixel rear camera, and a 5 megapixel front-facing camera. Under the hood is Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 with 2.0 GHz octa-core CPUs. The phone supports a microSD card of up to 2TB.

It further includes TurboPower charging, that the company claims can give users up to 13 hours of power in just 15 minutes, and Moto Maker customisation. The phone is said to give users up to 48 hours of battery life on a single charge.

The Moto X Force is expected to make its debut in the UK and other international markets in November.
