New Delhi: Pebble Time, the latest smartwatch by Pebble Technology, garnered more than a million dollars on project-funding website Kickstarter within an hour of getting listed.
The company announced its latest smartwatch on February 24 and through a video, CEO Eric Migicovsky introduced the watch and explained its user-friendly features.
According to a report on Business Insider, Pebble exceeded its Kickstarter goal and raised over $1million in less than an hour of going live.
At the time of writing, the value is up at $7,241,498 going past the goal of $500,000 with 34,329 backers. The company broke Kickstarter's record for the most-funded project ever in 2012 when it had launched its first smartwatch.
Even today, as the digits are still moving up, Pebble Time smartwatch seems to achieve that record again.
The smartwatch features a timeline and microphone for voice replies to notifications. Pebble Time also sports a e-paper-like display with improved backlight and water-resistant quality.
The customisable Pebble Time will start shipping in May and the funding will end in March.
Early backers of the smartwatch on Kickstarter will get it for $159, but it will sell for $199 when it hits the market.
