Bengaluru is often in the news for its chaotic traffic conditions, but it’s also home to some of the finest pubs in India. Interestingly, an American woman living in the city recently shared her unique experience and revealed how she often takes her toddler to these pubs, which is not common in her home country. She highlighted that Bengaluru pubs offer a wide variety of mocktails and fresh juices for non drinkers. Many of these places have outdoor seating that prohibits smoking, making them safer for children. The woman further shared that the ambiance in these pubs is best for kids, as some even host fun activities designed for younger guests.
Sharing the video of her toddler enjoying the cozy atmosphere of the Bengaluru pub, the woman wrote, “Things I do in India that I didn’t do overseas: Indian pubs almost all have extensive mocktail and/or fresh juice menus for non-drinkers such as myself. Many Bengaluru pubs are open air and don’t allow smoking of any kind. (The same is not the case in many parts of India). Bengaluru pubs are often super nice environments. This one has fish ponds all around, which is fun for little ones. Some Bengaluru Pubs even host kids’ activities on the weekend. We have even attended a child’s birthday party in a pub before. Bengaluru pubs are in a league of their own. My toddler loves a day visit (would not bring her at night).”
Reacting to the post, a user wrote, “I’ve even seen a lot of kids at breweries in the evenings. I think breweries and pubs in Bengaluru are a lot more like restaurants than their namesakes in the states.”
Another shared, “I’ll never forget the time I was walking into a pub with my three kids and my youngest asked, ‘Are you bringing us to another shady bar with gangsters?’ I don’t know why she had the word ‘another,’ like we frequent shady bars?”
