Dhoni Fans Abuse Jitesh Sharma on Instagram After PBKS Player Ran Out CSK Veteran
CSK vs PBKS: Jitesh Sharma taking Dhoni's last-ball wicket has fans frustrated as they start abusing him on Instagram.

MS Dhoni’s flair for last-ball drama remains unmatched, even at 42. In IPL 2024, his appearances in the final overs are like a burst of fireworks, painting the pitch with boundaries and sixes. In a recent match against Punjab Kings, Dhoni’s form seemed unbreakable. He hadn’t lost his wicket before this game and was on course for another unbeaten inning until a dramatic run-out on the final ball shattered his streak.

Facing a low full toss outside off from Arshdeep Singh, Dhoni swung his bat, but the ball caught the outside edge and headed towards Harshal Patel at short third man. Patel initially misfielded, prompting Dhoni to attempt a risky second run. Patel, however, recovered swiftly, hurling the ball towards the batter’s end. Dhoni, in a bid to make his ground, fell short as Jitesh Sharma whipped off the bails in a flash.

For Dhoni’s loyal fans, seeing their hero run out is a bitter pill to swallow. Known for his lightning speed between the wickets, it’s an unusual sight. Some expressed disappointment, while others resorted to trolling Sharma for his role in the dismissal.

The backlash poured onto Sharma’s Instagram, with users venting their frustration in colourful language.

“It’s good that you didn’t get selected in the world cup, you made Thala run out, what difference does one run make?” lamented one user. Another expressed disbelief, “You should’ve understood, buddy, people watch matches for him. How bad we must be feeling, you got him run out, and moreover, his leg is injured. Didn’t expect this from you, buddy.”

Despite the setback, Dhoni contributed 14 runs off 11 balls, showcasing his trademark blend of finesse and power. However, Chennai Super Kings fell short, posting a modest total of 162. Punjab Kings, on the other hand, chased down the target comfortably, sealing victory with two overs to spare.
