US President Joe Biden, currently in Italy for the Group of Seven (G7) summit, was captured on video appearing to wander away from a gathering of prominent leaders from the G7 bloc.

In the viral video, Biden is seen turning to his right and walking away from the group, prompting Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni to reach out and guide him back.

Including Meloni, several prominent G7 leaders such as British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, and others were visible in the video where Biden appeared to wander away from them.

A user on X shared the clip, commenting, “President Biden appears to start wandering off at the G7 summit and has to be handled back in. Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni was seen grabbing Biden to bring him back to the group.”

Many on social media expressed their concerns about Biden’s behavior.

“This is what was caught on camera. Can you imagine what else he did right in front of world leaders? Such an embarrassment,” one user shared.

“Dear Lord, please help America. We’re hanging on by a thread. How much longer will they let him embarrass us?” another user expressed.

“I don’t think there’s any chance he makes it to the election, much less another 4 years. The Dems are in a bad spot, and they can blame no one but themselves,” a user wrote.

This incident adds to the many instances where the 81-year-old US President’s health has been questioned on social media.

An ‘Awkward’ Salute

Earlier today, Biden awkwardly saluted Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni while being welcomed by her for the G7 summit on Thursday. Biden’s gesture garnered widespread attention on social media platforms.

Leaders from the G7 countries – Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States – are meeting for a three-day summit from June 13 to 15 to discuss global affairs in the southern Italian region of Puglia (Apulia).

On Tuesday, Biden was observed standing motionless for about thirty seconds during an event at the White House commemorating the Juneteenth holiday.

In the viral video, Biden was seen standing motionless for around thirty seconds before Philonise Floyd, the brother of George Floyd, whose death in 2020 sparked countrywide protests, saw him and wrapped his arm around him. Biden then smiles as Floyd comes in to utter something, and following a brief exchange of words, they bump fists.
