‘Missing Features, Slow Setup’: Tech Expert Disappointed With iPhone 16 Pro, Calls It Waste Of Time
Tech expert claims iPhone is a waste of time, after he struggled to differentiate between iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro.

Aditya Agarwal, one of Facebook’s earliest engineers, who gained media attention in 2010 for his lavish wedding in Goa attended by Mark Zuckerberg, is back in the headlines – but this time for his critical take on Apple’s latest release, the iPhone 16 Pro.

After upgrading from the iPhone 14 Pro, Agarwal expressed his disappointment on X (formerly Twitter), claiming that the new model is a “waste of time.” He noted that despite the hefty price tag, he struggled to find any visible differences between the iPhone 16 Pro and its predecessor. What further frustrated the tech veteran was that setting up the device took him nearly 24 hours, a process he found unnecessarily time-consuming.

Adding to his dissatisfaction, Agarwal pointed out that the highly anticipated Apple Intelligence feature – touted by the company as a major advancement – won’t be available until later this year. This incomplete rollout, combined with the lack of notable improvements, left Agarwal unimpressed.

Taking to his social media handle, the tech expert wrote, “I upgraded from the iPhone 14 Pro to the iPhone 16 Pro. I literally cannot tell the difference. It took me 24 hours to set up the new phone properly etc. It just feels like a waste of time. And I do not understand where this ‘Apple Intelligence’ is?”

When an X user replied to Aditya Agarwal’s post, mentioning that “Apple Intelligence is promised update, not available,” Aditya wasn’t satisfied with the explanation and wrote, “Show not tell. Ship, don’t promise.”

Another shared, “Buying a new phone or laptop is not any more interesting than buying a new washing machine.”

“I went from a 12 to a 16 and still can’t tell much of a difference. And yes re-logging into all my apps is a waste of time,” a comment read.

Another wrote, “I have found it best to whenever changing phones, to intentionally choose a different size or style than the previous one. iPhone SE to iPhone 13 mini. iPhone 13 mini to iPhone 16 Pro Max. This way, you always have the satisfaction of a phone that feels new, different, warranted, etc. Brain tricks.”

An individual shared, “Same story, bro. On top of that, I’m annoyed by the action button because I keep accidentally pressing it in my pocket when I want to turn the volume up. I already disabled the camera button.”

One more added, “What was the reason you upgraded? My rule is, I only upgrade to a new thing when the old one has serious problems. Therefore, I am still happily driving my 2012 Prius (even though I could easily afford a newer car) and typing this on my iPhone 11 Pro.”

Since being shared on X, the post has garnered over 9 lakh views.
