A Saudi Arabian couple took their relationship to a whole new level and got married underwater in the Red Sea. Hassan Abu Al-Ola and Yasmine Daftardar, both dedicated divers, were delighted to perform the ceremony surrounded by corals and sea creatures in Jeddah. It was held by the local group of divers, where the captain of the expedition was Faisal Flemban.
The team supplied some basic equipment for divers and also arranged an underwater ceremony for the couple. Other divers joined the fun, making it more of a festive atmosphere beneath the waves. “After we geared up, Captain Faisal and the team told us they had planned to celebrate our wedding right there under the sea. It was a beautiful and unforgettable experience,” Hassan shared in an interview with Gulf News.
On the special occasion, Yasmine opted for a white flowing gown while Hassan wore a formal black tuxedo accompanied by their diving gear. Hassan expressed gratitude for the seamless execution of the event, stating, “Alhamdulillah, there were no challenges. The celebration went smoothly, and everyone was amazed by how unconventional and spectacular it was.”
Besides, Hassan and Yasmine wanted to mark the day of their wedding by spreading the word on the necessity of sea life protection in Saudi Arabia. The couple expressed their faith to Gulf News stating that their story will open people’s eyes to the richness of their environment underneath the sea of their homeland. “This is just one way we can contribute to realizing the vision of Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the Prince of Youth and the visionary leader of our great country,” Hassan remarked.
Unique marriages celebrated in different countries are not something new to the world today. The couple, identified as Priscilla Ant and Filippo LeQuerce, recently made headlines by thrillingly celebrating their wedding. The duo and their guests jumped from a high cliff via paragliding. The wedding ritual was performed on the cliff and after that, they leapt off hand in hand.
The lovebirds exchanged vows at the cliff surrounded by friends and family. All participants received safety gear to ensure that they had a secure jump as well as enjoyed the event.
