A letter, written by a 10-year-old girl named Lily, has gone viral on social media.

Christmas, which is celebrated on December 25 every year, is one of the most loved holidays in the world. On this auspicious occasion, writing letters to Santa Claus is one of the most cherished experiences for kids. One of these letters, written by a 10-year-old girl named Lily, has gone viral on social media. The letter shows a poignant note written by Lily, who hails from a poor family. The Big Help Project, a charity trust based in Kensington, London has shared this letter on Facebook. The trust is running a campaign called ‘Dear Santa’, which aims to highlight the struggle of families living in poverty during the festive season. In the letter, the girl wrote, “Hi Santa, mum told me you are sick this year and you can’t come to our house. I hope you get better soon. I think it would really make my baby brother happy! Love Lilly xx (Age 10). PS. We have been so good this year." At the end of the letter, Lily drew a diagram of Santa Claus and the reindeer as well. It is believed that the reindeer pull the sleigh of Santa Claus.

The Big Help Project wrote in the caption, “No child should have to think Santa is poorly and can’t bring them presents. 1 in 7 children will go without any gifts this Christmas. We are using our campaign ‘Dear Santa’ to reflect the struggles families living in poverty will face over the festive season. "

The letter was later shared on Instagram by another charity organisation, Come Together Christmas, as part of its Christmas appeal. In a post on Instagram, the charity issued a plea for people to help families living in poverty across the city. Come Together Christmas is based at Alkafuel Water’s shop on Derby Lane in Old Swan. Come Together Christmas appealed to the people, who are financially capable of coming forward with donations. The trust mentioned that there are 4 more days left for Christmas and people can help the poor with the donations. The trust also wrote that 24,000 children in Liverpool are living in deprived conditions.
