Time and again, our social media feeds overflow with videos showcasing culinary experimentation. While some leave us in awe, others leave us scratching our heads in disbelief. But, amidst this whirlwind of online content, one recent recipe has captured our collective attention like never before, the rainbow sourdough bread.
Vlogger Biz Velatini, hailing from Chicago, recently shared a video revealing the secrets behind the rainbow sourdough bread. In her demonstration, Biz reminisced about the time she bought a rainbow bread loaf from a local bakery and her daughter’s insatiable craving for more. However, faced with high costs exceeding her budget, Biz decided to master the recipe at home. “This colorful bread reminds me of the rainbow bread I made Hannah when she was little. Hannah finding health – do you remember that?,” she wrote in the caption.
In the instructional video, Biz guides viewers through the delightful process of preparing the rainbow sourdough bread. Dividing the dough into four equal parts, she adds different edible food colors, all derived from fruit extracts, ensuring an egg-free, nut-free, gluten-free, peanut-free, and dairy-free recipe suitable for various dietary needs. Now, Biz kneads them all together, ensuring a thorough mix of colours. After layering and wrapping the dough, she chills it in the freezer for 30 minutes before placing it on a baking tray. A few slits later, the dough is ready for the oven.
The video concludes with a peek at the final result – a stunning, multicolored loaf. Biz shared that if she had her own café, her rainbow bread would be the star ingredient in kid-friendly cheese grilled sandwiches.
