As Coldplay is ready to make a comeback to India after nearly a decade, the craze for their upcoming concert remains unbeatable. The band will take to the stage next year in January, for which the tickets recently went on sale, creating a chaotic situation on the booking platform, BookMyShow. As soon as the tickets went live, fans rushed to book their slots, only to find the platform crashing. Amid all of this, the reselling sites were spotted thriving, with tickets listing at 10 to 20 times the original prices.
Also, multiple reports of fake Coldplay tickets have left everyone concerned. In the wake of the events, BookMyShow has warned fans against the unauthorised sale of tickets, even filing a police complaint against ticket scalping.
In a statement issued by the platform on Tuesday, September 24, it said, “BookMyShow has no association with any ticket selling/reselling platforms such as Viagogo and Gigsberg or third party individuals for the purpose of reselling of Coldplay’s Music Of The Spheres World Tour 2025 in India. Scalping is strictly condemned and punishable by law in India. We have filed a complaint with the police authorities and will provide complete support to them in the investigation of this matter.”

It went on to urge fans to not fall victim to these scams, adding that any tickets from unauthorised sources will be at the risk of the consumer and can turn out to be fake tickets. It is pertinent to note that platforms like Viagogo and Gigsberg were seen reselling the concert tickets at inflated prices, ranging between Rs 2,500 and Rs 12,500.
In another statement, BookMyShow cautioned fans about the ticket scams. “It has come to our attention that unauthorised platforms are listing tickets for Coldplay’s Music Of The Spheres World Tour 2025 in India, both before and after the official sale. These tickets are invalid. Ticket scalping is illegal in India and punishable by law. Please don’t fall prey to this because you will be buying fake tickets,” it wrote.
For those unaware, the iconic British band will perform in Mumbai on January 18, 19, and 21, 2025. Tickets were sold between various ranges and options between Rs 2,500 and Rs 35,000.
