America’s Got Talent (AGT) continues to feature talented individuals and the latest standout performer was 9-year-old Pranysqa Mishra from Florida, USA. Mishra stole the spotlight on the AGT stage with her powerful rendition of Tina Turner’s River Deep Mountain High and surprisingly, she even earned a Golden Buzzer from judge Heidi Klum. Mishra impressed everyone not just with her performance but also when she named Aretha Franklin and Whitney Houston as her favourite artists alongside Turner. Before starting the performance, Mishra told Klum that she would call her grandmother if her audition went well. True to her word, Klum called the little girl’s grandmother backstage to share the exciting news.
As soon she began singing Turner’s song, Cowell, Sofia Vergara, Klum, Howie Mandel and host Terry Crews were totally surprised by her talent. Following the performance, Klum was first to share her opinion and said, “I did not expect that, we expect a lot of things but I did not expect that. You know what I’m going to do now because I honestly don’t want to hear what Howie, Simon or Sophia has to say. I want you to call your grandmother and say that Heidi Klum pushed a golden buzzer for you."
Reacting to the video, a user wrote, “The best part is that she acts just like a regular 9 year old girl off the stage. So humble, talented and wise beyond her years."
Another shared, “She wasn’t lucky to get the golden buzzer. The golden buzzer was actually lucky to get her."
“She sang the song so effortlessly, she was dancing, moving around, hitting all the high notes, right on pitch," a comment read.
Another wrote, “Imagine what this girl is going to sound like in 10 years. She could actually be a superstar."
An individual shared, “She sang the heck out of it. Wow. What a gift of a voice."
One more added, “How is she 9 with that much control! The maturity and seasoning on her voice already mindblowing."
Prior to Pranysqa Mishra’s memorable performance on America’s Got Talent, another 11-year-old of Indian origin stunned the audience by blending desi beats with Papa Roach’s rock anthem, Last Resort. Her unique blend of Carnatic music with rock and metal earned her a standing ovation from judges Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel, Sofia Vergara and host Terry Crews. Cowell praised her and called rock goddess.
