Video Of Drunk Driver’s Reverse Gear Chase On Ghaziabad Highway Is Straight Out Of A Movie Set

A shocking video has emerged, showing a dramatic police chase on a highway in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad. The footage, which has gone viral on social media, depicts a scene straight out of a Bollywood movie, with the police chasing a white Hyundai i-20 driven by an allegedly drunk driver.

The incident began when the police received a tip-off about the reckless driving of the Hyundai i-20. As the police attempted to intercept the vehicle, the driver skillfully manoeuvred the car in reverse, evading capture and leading the police on a daring chase.

The vehicle in question is seen driving in a different direction on the road in the 42-second footage, and the Ghaziabad Police are seen chasing it. Despite their efforts, the driver manages to escape, weaving through traffic in a bid to evade capture.

Reports suggest that the police initially tried to stop the car on the highway, but the driver refused to comply and instead drove in reverse to avoid being caught. The video shows the driver navigating the highway in a zigzag pattern, intensifying the dramatic nature of the chase.

Fortunately, there were no reports of injuries or accidents during the pursuit. The police confirmed the event and described their efforts to capture the motorist in a statement they released in reaction to the widely shared video.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Nimish Dasharath Patil addressed the incident, stating, “Today, a video is going viral on social media according to which a car i20 is running in reverse gear on the elevated road.”

He further stated that the driver was being pursued by a police vehicle. Upon gathering more details about the incident, it was discovered that it occurred on an elevated road around 9:30-10:00 pm last night.

He elaborated that the police control room received a report of a Hyundai i-20 car driving recklessly from Rajnagar, with a complaint of drunk driving. Acting on this information, when the police attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver began reversing the car. Further details are being sought regarding this incident, and appropriate action will be taken pending the investigation, he added.
