A touching video of an elderly man playing with a little girl on a train journey has captured hearts on social media. The footage, shared by a user on Instagram, shows her young daughter playing with the elderly man. As they interacted, the elderly man got visibly emotional, silently shedding tears while engaging with the child.

In her caption, Neelam said the elderly man got emotional and began to cry while his wife softly urged him to stop. The couple was unaware that Neelam had overheard the elderly man crying.

“Recently, I travelled where I met a respected senior couple. Suddenly they called my daughter and started to play with her, I heard that he was crying, and his wife was saying please stop crying, (they didn’t know that I heard he was crying),” Neelam wrote.

As the journey progressed and Neelam’s station approached, she took the opportunity to converse with the couple. She sensed that their emotional reaction might have been due to missing their grandchildren.

“Everything is good. After a long time, as my station was about to come, I generally talked with them. In between, they had a word with me normally… I think they were missing their grandchildren who were living with them, and I must say they were a nice couple,” she wrote.

In conclusion, she wrote, “In my opinion, children are children we have to make them learn about controlling activity and diverting activities, if we are strict about those things which are enjoyable in childhood only, we lose their Bachpan too.”

Another user reminisced about an experience from three decades ago, writing, “Years back when I was travelling by train, there was a man seated opposite me. He was looking at me and smiling. After some time he told my mother that I resembled his daughter who drowned and died. He showed her pic also. He gifted me a small diary and pen. When he said bye to me and left, his eyes were filled with tears. this incident happened around 30 years back.”

Someone else noted, “In this world of too much negativity about strangers to kids.. happy you posted about someone as good as him and not everyone is bad.”

“You offered them a part of their life that they are missing….moments like these are so beautifully placed in our lives to make us believe in the beauty of love, compassion and empathy towards each other in a society,” a person shared.
