Video Of Rooster Abuse In Pune Prompts Call For Action Against Animal Cruelty

A clip of a horrific incident on Instagram has stirred the headlines in which a girl has been captured slapping and beating a rooster brutally. The clip starts with a woman, who is wearing gloves, slapping the rooster. She continues to do that a couple of times and shows no signs of stopping. The bird tries to jump and fight the girl but fails after a few attempts. On the other hand, the woman grabs the bird’s neck, making it helpless to fight back and again slaps it continuously. Following this act, the lady even flings the bird far-off on the floor with all her might. She again catches the rooster, twirls it a few times, and throws it on the floor, probably causing immense injuries to the poor bird. At this point, the clip ends abruptly and it is not clear why the woman behaved so harshly with the rooster. This clip has garnered more than 1 Lakh views and counting.

Social media users were infuriated to see this act and complained that these videos should not be made available on social media platforms. One of the comments reads,” Why Laughing? Poor human being..!! Hope your god will punish you..!!”. Another wrote that videos like these should be reported on social media. Others expressed their anguish in the comment section by dropping angry emoticons. One of the users also challenged the lady to fight someone of her size.

In a similar incident that happened on April 18, a shopkeeper struck a puppy with an iron rod in Pune’s Pimpri-Chinchwad link road area. According to Punekar News, a complaint has been filed against the accused, Gupta, a Pradhikaran resident, at the Pimpri police station. Hitesh Jaipal Kundnani, a 34-year-old Link Road resident filed this complaint. On Pimpri’s link road, Gupta is the owner of a store named Gupta Traders.

As per the police report, a brown and white puppy that frequently visited the area in front of Gupta’s store was subjected to assault. Reportedly, he battered the animal with an iron rod, driving it out of the shop and into the pavement. Since the vicious attack, the puppy was admitted to an animal hospital in Wakad for treatment owing to severe injuries.

Users demanded stern action against the accused.
