Watch: How Are Scissors Manufactured

We get to see all types of videos on social media, some even educating us on stuff we may be unaware of. One of the best things about social media is that we often get to see informative videos. A similar video is making rounds on the internet, showing how a pair of scissors is made.It was posted by an account called @bapu_zamindar_short on Instagram, the caption in Hindi states, “This is how scissors are made.” The clip starts with a man filtering out a fine powdery grey sand, who then mixes it with some kind of a melted metal. The black coloured mix is then transferred to a tray; after pressing it well, the mixture is closed with a lid. After some time, it is opened and then the outlines of the scissors made on the tray are kept with iron made upper parts of the scissors.

The makers then take a tar coal cylindrical shaped container and heat it. It is then filled with discarded brass metal things, which is melted for the next ten minutes. The melted metal is poured into the scissor outlined tray, the one they prepared earlier. Then they take out the roughly made scissors after a few minutes and the extra brass is removed. It is sharpened with the help of a rotating machine. To fix the two parts, the makers just use one bolt, which is fixed right between the scissors, it is sharpened for a second time and the scissors are ready. The video has been liked hundreds of times and gained more than 64,000 views on the platform.

A similar video on the same Instagram handle showed how chargers are made. According to the clip, it involves a lot of machinery with a little help from the makers. They make sure that the wires and the insides are attached carefully.
