The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) examination is arguably the most competitive exam in India and is often regarded as one of the toughest in the world. Aspirants from all kinds of educational backgrounds and regions vie for a coveted spot in the civil services through this rigorous selection process. The journey to cracking the UPSC is a hard one, requiring months, if not years, of dedicated preparation. Recently, Kshitij Gurbhele, an IIT-Roorkee graduate, secured an all-India rank of 441 in the highly competitive exam.
In a heartwarming video captured on camera, he surprised his father at his office to give him the good news. The viral video, posted to his Instagram handle, shows Gurbhele walking in while his father was having lunch with colleagues. His father appeared pleasantly shocked and visibly confused.
Walking in, Gurbhele joked, “Koi bada pad adhikari aaya toh uthna chahiye na? (You should stand up when a high-ranking officer enters, no?)” The father, overwhelmed, jumped up, embraced his son and planted a kiss on his cheek. The colleagues also joined in the celebration, with everyone cheering and congratulating the proud father and son duo.
“This is how delivered UPSC CSE 2023 result to my father who was casually having lunch with his colleagues at his office,” Gurbhele wrote as the caption. “Took 2 years of hard work for this very special moment. Forever grateful to Mummy, Papa and Didi for being the only constant in this journey,” he added.
The video has gone viral with over 26.7 million views just in one day.
A user commented, “Video quality 144p ,content quality 1080p.”
Another said, “Men Came , Men Saw , Men Cried , Men Became Happy, Men Scrolled.”
Someone else wrote, “All that hard work for that one hug.”
“Why this video is 2hours long?” joked a user, while another added, “My father will also hug me when my 1st directed film will release.”
The UPSC 2023 examinations were topped by IIT Kanpur alumnus, Aditya Srivastava with 54.27% marks. The second rank was secured by Animesh Pradhan, followed by Donuru Ananya Reddy in the third place.
