Watch: Parents In Tears After UPSC Aspirant Denied Entry For Arriving Late
A heartbreaking video of the aspirant’s parents is currently making rounds on the internet, showing them crying out in anguish outside the exam centre.

A heartbreaking incident occurred at an exam centre in Gurugram where parents of a Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) aspirant broke down after their daughter was denied entry for arriving late. A viral video captured their emotional outburst outside SD Adarsh Vidyalaya in Sector 47.

The clip shows the mother and the father crying out in anguish outside the exam centre gate. In the video, the aspirant consoles her father while he continues to curse at the authorities in frustration for barring her from taking the exam.

“Papa! paani piyo. Kyun aise kar rahe ho? Papa, hum agli baar de denge. Kuch aisi baat nahi hai (Papa, please have some water and calm down, why are you doing this? I will take the exam next year. It’s no big deal),” the girl can be heard saying in the emotional exchange.

The father sobbed, “Ek saal gaya babu hamara (A year has been wasted),” to which the aspirant bravely replied, “Koi baat nahi! Naa umar nikli jaa rahi (No problem! I am still young).”

Subsequently, both the girl and her father were seen attempting to console the mother, who refused to leave the centre, stating, “Naa jaungi (I won’t leave).” The daughter then urged her mother, saying, “Mummy, ek exam hi to hai! Please chup hojaao aise thodi naa krte hain (Mummy, it’s just one exam. Please stop crying, don’t act like this)”. Then the mother was lifted and carried away by her father and a group of bystanders.

The video was shared on social media platform X with the caption, “Heartbreaking video. Condition of Parents who came along with their daughter for the UPSC Prelims exam today, as their daughter was not allowed for being late. Exam starts at 9: 30 am, and they were at the gate at 9 am but were not allowed in by the principal of SD Adarsh Vidyalaya, Sector 47, Gurugram.”

Social media users expressed sympathy with the family’s situation.

A user wrote, “Respect for his daughter to be strong in this condition.”

Another user wrote, “This is heartbreaking.”

Some took the authorities’ side and said that rules are the same for everyone.

“I mean there are protocols at the end of the day. Exam starts at 9 30 but the gate closes at a certain time before so who do we blame here,” a comment read.

One user recounted his experience arriving late at a centre, stating, “Even I attended the exam yesterday, they allowed me in after 9 AM too. But in some colleges, it depends on the type of principal present. He allowed candidates till 9:25 AM and closed the gate afterward. He was kind.”

Others offered advice, with one comment highlighting the importance of knowing the exam hall entrance timing: “Better to be more vigilant on exam day. Take an extra buffer time to fill in case of any delay due to unnatural conditions.”

Others praised the aspirant, saying, “When she needs support herself, she’s supporting her parents. More power and love for her.”

The clip, shared on Sunday night, has amassed close to 2 million views so far.
