If you’ve ever gone to Madhya Pradesh, you must have heard of or visited the Balancing Rock.

This unique rock is situated near the Madan Mahal in Jabalpur, which is no less than a wonder. This location can easily be included in your tourist plan. It is nature’s creation where it seems as though one rock is balanced on top of another. The weight of this rock is in tons and both the rocks are of the same size. Surprisingly, even major earthquakes failed to move these rocks. Thousands of visitors flock to this destination to witness the creation of nature. Scientists tried to solve this mystery, but the answer is only that this stone is resting due to the force of gravity. It is also believed that nothing can disrupt the balance of these rocks.

Granite rocks are famous in Jabalpur city and this rock is also of the same form. The rock is located near the renowned Madan Mahal, so people from all over the country and abroad come to see this rock. After witnessing it, people get curious and wonder how this can happen. Some people are even scared to stand near it and are afraid that this heavy rock may suddenly fall.

Senior journalist Jayant Verma said that Balancing Rock is a unique wonder in the world. Its history can be seen in the city itself. The word Jabal in Jabalpur is a Persian word, which means stone. Jabalpur city used to be a stone city earlier. But, it is also said that Sage Jabali did penance in Jabalpur. That is why the city was named Jabalpur. He said the Balancing rock is in granite formation. Earlier, there used to be soil all around it. Slowly over time, the soil near the rock got washed away.

Verma said that even if many people climb on the rock, it will not fall. In 1997, there was an earthquake of about 5 Richter scale, but even then the earthquake tremors were not able to shake this rock. The rock is a unique type of rock and a wonder in the whole country. Such rocks are rarely found in the world.

He further said that a few years ago an attempt was made to break the rock because it is on private land. Photographer Rajnikanth had also protested against this. Hence, Advocate Jayant Verma himself had filed a petition in the High Court. After this, the court handed over the land to the Archaeological Department and the rock was preserved.
