Cairo: Egypt on Tuesday said its probe into the Russian plane crash that killed all 224 people on board did not find any evidence that the it was downed in a terrorist act.
Egypt's reaction came hours after Russia confirmed that a bomb attack brought down the Russian passenger jet over Egypt last month.
Egyptian Minister of Civil Aviation Hossam Kamal said that a probe into the crash is yet to reach a conclusion. Egyptian investigative committee, till now, did not find any evidence that the Russian plane was crashed due to a terrorist act, he said.
Kamal said that the investigations of crashes could take a year or longer to be concluded and that there is no investigations in the world could be concluded this fast.
The Minister added that any details will be announced as soon as the committee finalises its report, which is working according to international rules.
Prime Minister Sherif Ismail said, "We will consider the the results of the Russian investigation on the plane crashed in Sinai. The government is enhancing the security measures in all airports in the country."
The Russian announcement marks the first time the Kremlin has acknowledged that a bomb brought down the plane. Russian President Vladimir Putin vowed to hunt down those responsible for the attack.
The Kogalymavia A231 air crash on October 31, leaving 224 people dead, making it the deadliest air accident in modern Russian history. An Islamic State video, released earlier this month, showed a Russian-speaking jihadist praising his "Sinai brothers" for taking down a Russian passenger jet.
