Big E's Return to WWE's The Bump; Fans Want 'The New Day' at Royal Rumble

WWE fans were sent into a frenzy after the return of former champion Big E on the upcoming episode of The Bump was confirmed by multiple media outlets. The American superstar disappeared from the company’s roster after a Belly-to-Belly Suplex from Ridge Holland injured his neck on Friday Night SmackDown back in March 2022. Upon his comeback, Big E will reunite with the members of his old group New Day. “The New Day is set to reunite next week on WWE’s The Bump,” read the caption of a post on social media platform X, formerly Twitter.

As the news comes to light a few days before the Royal Rumble, fans have already begun to speculate about Big E’s participation at the pay-per-view event.

After the update was shared on social media, wrestling content creator Santi Zap reshared the post and wrote, “If Big E is returning at the Royal Rumble: Don’t Spoil It.”

The anticipation grabbed the eyeballs of many fans, who also seemed quite eager to see Big E back in the ring. As the American’s inclusion in the Royal Rumble line-up is yet to be confirmed, one fan commented, “I feel like WWE is horrible at keeping secrets cause the truth is that awesome.”

Another fan thinks the chances of Big E’s participation at the Royal Rumble are extremely low but “if it happens. That’s gotta be a beautiful moment.”

One user reckons Big E should reunite with the New Day at the Royal Rumble before bringing out “Brock Lesnar for them to team up and eliminate him.”

In the absence of Big E, the remaining members of the New Day– Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston mostly worked as a duo. Earlier, a week before Christmas, it was reported that Woods would be out of action for some time due to an injury. As he was left alone, Kingston paired up with Jey Uso on an episode of WWE RAW to take on Imperium’s Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci.The match turned quite brutal as Kofi injured Vinci with a dangerous dropkick.

If WWE adds Big E to Royal Rumble’s roster, there might be a six-man tag team match featuring the New Day and Imperium. The highly anticipated event is slated to be held at the Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida on January 27.
