Bharat Stage IV Compliant 2017 Bajaj Pulsar 220F Launched
The 220's BSIII compliant engine has been upgraded to meet BSIV emission norms in the new 220F.

The Bajaj Pulsar 220 is the largest selling bike among the 200 cc+ Bajaj-retailed bikes.

Bajaj Pulsar 220, which is complaint to the latest Bharat Stage IV emission norms, has formally been launched. The 220F was initially introduced in July 2007. Equipped with fuel injected engine, the Pulsar 220F went through some changes, but the final motorcycle remained the same.

Bajaj Pulsar 220 was the largest selling bike among the 200 cc+ Bajaj-retailed bikes, and the brand expects same response to the BSIV complaint sibling. The Bajaj Pulsar 220F has been priced at Rs 91,201 (ex-showroom, Delhi), which is a Rs 2,274 more than the 220.

The 220's BSIII compliant engine has been upgraded to meet BSIV emission norms in the new 220F, however other specifications remain the same, which is a 220 cc, oil-cooled, single cylinder unit that is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. It produces 21.05 PS of maximum power at 8,500 rpm and 19.12 Nm of peak torque at 7,000 rpm.

The upgrades include a matte black finish to the exhaust canister, and a new backlit cool blue colour for the instrumentation cluster which previously used to be amber. It continues to have a mix of analogue tachometer and digital speedometer.

Speaking of ride comfort, Bajaj claim that the new enhanced material used on the seats should provide additional comfort and stability for the rider, and better cushioning for the pillion.

Braking is cobered by a 260 mm disc brake in the front and a 230 mm disc in the rear. The motorcycle weighs 150 kgs (kerb) and has a 15-litre fuel tank.
